Training with the best to become the best you can be!
Nelson...innovator, teacher, motivator & visionary who put athletes' opportunities first!
The driving force behind Ruth N. Nelson’s efforts over the past 40 years was to ensure that athletes became all they could be. This also meant that opportunity would not be denied those who had been disadvantaged, economically, socially and intellectually.
From the very beginning of her career, Nelson worked hard to prepare herself, gain the necessary knowledge and skills and take advantage of opportunities with some of the top people in the world so that she could provide the best training, coaching, assistance and support possible. Her role models were Bertha Lucas, Dr. Jim Coleman, Mary Jo Peppler, Marilyn McReavey-Nolan and Dr. Arie Selinger. They mentored and encouraged Nelson to be an innovator, not a follower. Traveling with the national team for 12 years (1972-1984) also provided the luxury of learning from the best coaches in the world. To read more about Nelson click here |
